The Brief:
After extensive building works to this property in West London, as usual, the garden was left in a sorry state and in need of some careful re-modelling. After preparing the site properly for landscaping, it was decided to remove part of the back wall in order to create a natural seating area, and to give the garden a contemporary feel, we rendered the old brick wall and gave them a neutral grey colour.
‘Fossil’ Indian sandstone paving was used which has a warm pinkish tone, to compliment the wall colour and as a backdrop we chose to clad the high back wall and effectively hide the unsightly chain link fence with Lateral (Chinese) Trellis painted in a dark walnut stain.
Planting:
The planting was carefully kept to foliage forms that will give maximum interest with a soft mood but strong tonal integrity. Simple ‘walk over’ lights give a welcoming ambience for evening entertainment
